Scotland
I'm a simple Scottish girl with an unusual name and a strange obsession for nail polish! My aim is to capture what the eye sees, with a camera! Too much nail polish and never enough time. I have also started wildlife photography, which I enjoy very much. Welcome to my little world :-)

OPI Life Gave Me Lemons

This is hard to use, hard to apply and mega quick drying (less than a minute). It's very streaky and terrible to apply to the nails, I guess it's the nature of the polish. I DIDN'T use a white base coat, I know you are supposed to! The way I found to get a decent finish was to have plenty on the brush and minimal brushstrokes - 1 or 2 per nail maximum. Lasted well.

Rating
Easy to use = 4/10
Application = 4/10
Drying time = 9/10
Lasted well = 8/10
Coats = 3
Finish = semi matte and neon
Removal = easy
Overall = 5/10
Purchased from = Sallys instore as a set

My Personal Rating = 7/10 :-) Despite the application, the colour is lovely and bright!

  3. I've got a couple of other OPIs of a very similar colour (one from the Shrek collection, one from the Rock Goddess) and they were both streaky and horrid to apply. Must be that colour. It does look good on you - I'm not sure I'd wear it though!

    1. I've got the Shrek one - not tried it yet hehe. Yeah colours like this are a nightmare - but I'm quite pleased with how it turned out. Thanks, I like to wear the bright and bold colours hehe :-)

  6. I find neons are always streaky :( This color is really nice and bright so I guess it's worth the effort to apply once in a while :) definitely not something to grab for a quick mani though lol

  10. I also the same with neons, but usually a topcoat evens it out! Love this color, so fresh!

    1. Yeah I tried the topcoat technique with Ciate Doll House and that didn't really work, I'll try it for the neons though! It's very refreshing hehe :-)

  11. I am not overly into Neons and yellows are my least favorites - HOWEVER Life Gave Me Lemons is a completely different story. This is an awesome yellow and I really love that dose of Green in it. Boooh for the formula though - three thumbs down dear Opi :-(! And I am with you, I never apply a white base - what would we end up having on our nails? 5 coats of polish? No Way!!!!

    1. I quite like the neons but I do think this is unusual. A totally different story agreed! Oh yeah big thumbs down for formula!

      That's my thinking too many, many coats of polish! It's also good to see how the polish applys on its own as well :-)

  12. I'm in love with the hue but totally Knocked out by the formula. I'm in love with neons, yet I hate it when they're difficult to apply (and most of them are, so... :( ). I've got one I'm deeply in love with which makes me wanna throw it out of the window each time I try to wear it: Color Club What a shock! :/ I'm almost likely to give up.
