I'm a simple Scottish girl with an unusual name and a strange obsession for nail polish! My aim is to capture what the eye sees, with a camera! Too much nail polish and never enough time. I have also started wildlife photography, which I enjoy very much. Welcome to my little world :-)

Day 11 - Ciate Strawberry Milkshake

Welcome to another episode of my Ciate Nightmare! *rolls eyes*

This was hard to apply - it was very streaky and dragged. I ended up with lots of bald spots. Very poor formula. I had to use thick coats so drying time was a bit longer (6-7 minutes each coat). This is 3 coats and I think I managed to get a decent finish and it actually does look quite good! I liked it in the end - the stress of application seemed worth it! Lasted really well.

Rating
Easy to use = 2/10
Application =2/10 dreadful
Drying time = 6/10
Lasted well = 8/10
Coats = 3 thick
Finish = creamy and very glossy
Removal = easy (though I put glitter on some nails)
Overall = 4/10
Purchased from = Selfridges

My Personal Rating = 7/10 :-) I do like it!

  1. Very pretty but I am afraid I won't buy Ciates *runs away* ;) when I read about application problems. They are quite expensive, should have been used easier. You've managed very well.

    2. Yeah, f. ex. the sandy or the pearls, and even these that paint with difficulties are pretty.

  3. I've seen it in my TkMaxx - not being a huge fan of pink, plus thinking about the formula and application I'll pass, although it looks so great on you! You got the best out of it!

  5. I think the Christmas calender is a great idea, but I must admit that I don't really want to buy Ciaté's next year, if they stuff it with polishes with bad formulas :D

  8. Looks good on you! Pastels can have a tricky formula in general (more or less ofc) so I guess that's common. :)
